“Good journalism can save lives.”

Peter Piot – Former Executive Director of UNAIDS

“Journalists are crucial in bringing to the fore critical issues that affect women’s lives. Efforts at addressing violence against women, female genital mutilation, child marriage and other women’s rights issues will not succeed unless everyone realises that they have a stake in this regard. Journalism plays a critical role in raising awareness and ensuring that women’s rights are protected and promoted.”

Marleen Temmerman – Head of the Department of Gynaecology and Obstetrics at the Aga Khan University in Nairobi
